After doubling over the past 15 years, job growth in Sacramento's green sector was flat in 2009, according to a new study.
The report, from the Next 10 public policy group, found that the number of green jobs in the state grew 3 percent between January 2008 and January 2009, reaching 174,000 despite the deepening financial crisis.
Employers offering jobs in fields such as solar-power generation, electric-vehicle development and environmental consultation added 5,000 jobs in 2008, the latest data available.
